WORLD TRADE
ORGANIZATION
The WTO is the only global international organization that deals with the rules of trade between nations. The WTO agreements are negotiated and signed by the majority of the world’s trading nations and ratified in their parliaments. The Committee ensures that trade flows are as smooth, predictable, and free as possible. The roles of the WTO include operating a global system of trade rules, acting as a forum for negotiating trade agreements, settling trade disputes between its members, and supporting the needs of developing countries.
